[Haruka would be loath to admit it, but there was a part of him that was afraid that he would simply wake up in Tokyo, the past couple months nothing but an incredibly elaborate, captivating dream. He'd be all alone in his apartment, with no proof that what happened in Sunset City was real. An ironic fear, considering he had spent the first week or so there desperately hoping that he was simply dreaming and he would wake up soon. A man dying on you really does stuff to your psyche...
So it's a relief, when he finds himself in Tokyo with Shalem—Abyss—at his side. The man doesn't quite blend in with the rest of Tokyo, but he's here. That's all that matters, and Haruka is equal parts thrilled and nervous about their future. There's so much he wants to do—he wants to show Abyss everything he loves in the city, wants to take him out for desserts and karaoke, wants him to meet ŹOOĻ and his grandmother, a thousand and one things but they have to take things a day at a time. (There's also anxiety in the back of his mind, worries that his grandmother won't approve... He's not sure what would happen if she didn't, so he pushes that meeting far, far away. Seeing how things on Earth aren't made to withstand Terrans just helps justify it even more, because the Isumi family home wouldn't survive.)
Some plans he can go right ahead with, though. Abyss is new to the city, and Haruka's apartment can fit both of them, but it's not set up for multiple people... A shopping trip is in order, and then maybe they can go for a date afterwards... They can find a place where nobody would think twice of an idol going to eat with another man isn't strange, surely.
That's a problem for future Haruka, though. Present Haruka is busy throwing together breakfast for them—something more Western, since he thinks that might be appreciated. (As if everything he doesn't isn't appreciated, Abyss a total sap deep down.)
If he's lucky, he can finish before Abyss wakes up—but he's sure the man already is, and he'll be walking in and startling Haruka any moment now.]
[Given the time of year and Tokyo's location on the map, Abyss really shouldn't be surprised that winter is coming. What a way to be introduced to a new world, though, thrust in the middle of the worst season for a serpent like him. It makes him sluggish, weak, and always in need of a source of warmth-- moreso at night, when he can't be awake to regulate his temperate more closely. Luckily, Haruka has that covered. Usually.
He tends to wake up when Haruka leaves the bed though, even if it takes him a while to gather up the energy to get up and leave the bed himself. If he could just inchworm his way across the heated floor though... he would be happy...
But wholly undignified.
He stumbles out of the room with a thick jacket wrapped around his shoulders as he hunts for Haruka-- small apartment though, so he doesn't have to go far, and he can simply follow the scent of food.]
Mmmh. [He places his forehead against Haruka's shoulder.]
He watches Abyss shuffling, well aware he won't catch the fond grin on Haruka's face, but he's sympathetic! Being cold-blooded in the winter can't be easy, but there's something adorable about the way he gets so sleepy and cuddly in the cold.]
Good morning.
[This is what they call domestic bliss, huh? He was already in a good mood, but the touch has made it lighten even more.]
Are you planning on staying there until I finish?
[It's almost done... But he's easily distracted, unfortunately.]
[He could just stay, frankly. He could just cling like this and leech heat from Haruka... but that would mean delaying breakfast, and eating a cold meal during the winter is just not appealing to him. So he mumbles incoherently again, rubs his cheek against Haruka's hair, and takes a seat at the table, curling up with the hood over his head.
At least the floors are heated, and there's lingering warmth in his jacket. He can survive until he gets some food. (Dramatic.)]
If there wasn't business to attend to... we could have gone to a warmer place for a vacation.
Maybe I can get some time off and we can take a small trip.
[Once Black or White is over, it shouldn't be too difficult to manage... A nice little vacation in the new year, going somewhere to bask in the sun.
He'll ask about it, at least.
Without his shoulder snake, breakfast is quickly finished, and Haruka sets a plate in front of Abyss. Bacon, eggs, nothing too extravagant but there's plenty of protein for him. He bustles around a bit longer, putting on a kettle and grabbing mugs for the tea.]
Though we could get another heater for the house, probably... I was planning on running some errands today, anyways.
[A fort of space heaters... Definitely not an electrical hazard.]
Let's go to Terra, solely for the fact that you needn't open your wallet. [And because he's discovered that people here get around by air if they want to go to another country. Nope, no thank you... He'll drive in Terra, his license isn't expiring yet.
Abyss spots Haruka putting on the kettle, and stands to help, heading for the cupboard where he knows the tea is stored.]
The city of music is too cold in the winter, but perhaps we can go to the beach.
[Well, from what he's heard about Terra, it really doesn't? But at the same time... He wants to see it anyways. It's Abyss' home, and even if the world seems chaotic and full of strife. And furries?]
Our destination is Siesta. You best pack for the beach, and I do hope you like the colour pink. [Abyss would be lying if he said he disliked it, himself. He's borderline pink himself, after all.
He slides the tea towards Haruka.]
... I suppose I'll tender my resignation to Rhodes Island while I'm at it.
[They'll take written resignation letters at least.]
Oh, no. You'll be right with me every step of the way. [He spears some eggs with his fork. Chopsticks may be the way to go here, and he may have some practice, but he would still rather use a fork if he can help it. Especially for something as slippery as an egg. Noodles are difficult enough, let alone eggs.] Many people on Rhodes Island are nosy, you see.
Especially if they're from Human Resources.
If they see you all alone, they'll pounce on you for gossip like sharks. [No offense to Specter.]

[Somehow, he hadn't considered that, but...]
Sure! That sounds... really good, actually.

Pink is alright, I guess...? It's not bad.
[He'll have to go digging through his closet to find anything beachy, but that's fine.
He takes a sip of his tea, nudging Abyss gently.]
Yeah, it'll be as good a time as any. Might as well wrap up all the loose ends you have so you don't have to worry about it later.
[He knows how much he isolates, so there might not be many people he wants to say goodbye to, but he has a life he's leaving behind.]
I can keep myself busy and out of trouble while you do that.

Staying by your side is still going to give them something to gossip about.
[A beat, as Haruka turns to him with a smug smile. Brat.]
Are you scared over what kind of questions they'll ask about you?
no subject
I'm concerned that you will not handle their questioning.
